Whew, well it’s been a crazy couple of weeks for good ol’ Dealer Dan.
On January 9th, one of my best friends died.
This was something that was just mind-blowing, and to say it threw me for a loop would be an understatement. I was just talking to Jen a few days prior about taking my kids to one of her yoga classes(as she ran her own yoga business) and then – poof – gone.
Even now, almost a month later, I still haven’t really taken it in yet. Just today I was making plans for a trip to Nova Scotia. I knew she had been there and went to send her a message asking for any recommendations for places to go – when I remembered. It’s just crazy, and it’s not a good feeling attending one of your best friends funerals when you’re only 29.
So yeah – I basically checked out for a couple of weeks work-wise, doing the bare minimum and that was it. All I can say is thank god for the Mesopotamins, inventors of beer!
Thankfully it isn’t all bad news – actually the complete opposite. 4 days before my 30th birthday there was a knock at my door. I opened it to find my mom standing there. My mom lives in Scotland(I live in Canada) and so I see her once a year max – so yeah this was a huge shock, as she came over for a surprise visit. Just awesome – the best birthday gift one could ask for.
So for the last few weeks I’ve basically forgotten about work. However my mom went home this week, and now it’s back to work even though I’ll still be on my semi-retirement schedule.
I’ll be writing a lot of articles on Affiliate Bible over the coming weeks – got tons planned and I want to really beef up the site.
I’m also going to be merging some of my websites into Casino Answers. I have quite a few websites sitting there with solid content but we don’t really maintain them so they’ve dropped down the rankings – rather than focus on those websites I’d rather just ditch them and move everything to Casino Answers, which is fast becoming our strongest website.
One of my other big projects is launching a new website which will be interesting and quite a challenge, because the actual topic of the website there’ll be absolutely no affiliate program for.
The best example I can give is if no poker rooms had affiliate programs. However you ran a poker portal anyway – and tried to sell your audience on poker products like Poker Table Ratings instead.
It’s going to be a busy few weeks here – while AB usually stands for Affiliate Bible, in February it might as well be known as Article Bomb!
