One key element to building a website is Search Engine Optimization, hereafter referred to as SEO. You should at least have a basic understanding of SEO when you first build a website, and it is recommended that you get some SEO books and read through them, as well as read SEO-related websites, to get better educated about it. Believe me, when that big Australian gambler googles for “poker room high limits”, you better make sure your site is on the front page, if not number one!
However SEO can be hard, as search engines are constantly changing. Based on this, I subscribe to a lot of SEO Newsletters so I can keep up to date. I’ll also sometimes see something in there that I didn’t even think about, that I can implement on my website. These newsletters also don’t just deal in SEO; some of them will give you updates about new web technologies, gossip etc and are a very fun read.
